Valentina Rain Cloak

The Valentina Rain Cloak uses a three-layer laminate construction with a polyurethane membrane bonded between polyamide outer and polyester lining. This architecture, common in technical mountaineering gear, gives the coat a 10,000mm water column rating. For context, sustained heavy rain typically requires around 5,000mm resistance.
All seams are heat-taped rather than stitched, eliminating the needle holes where water typically finds its way through. The main body is 88% polyamide with 12% elastane, giving it four-way stretch without the stiffness that makes some dogs resist wearing outerwear. A separate bi-elastic panel at the front legs allows natural shoulder movement during running and play.
MiaCara, based in Germany, designed the coat with a two-way zipper that opens from both ends. This accommodates different harness and collar configurations without forcing awkward workarounds. The belly strap adjusts for fit, and elastic loops at the rear legs prevent the hem from riding up during movement.
An extended hood and chest panel provide additional coverage, though some dogs may resist the hood initially. Worth noting: the coat runs slightly large, and MiaCara recommends sizing down if measurements fall between sizes.
The polyurethane membrane adds wind resistance alongside waterproofing, useful in exposed conditions. Machine washable at 30°C, inside out, no fabric softener.
