Sito Concealed Suite

The Sito Concealed Suite houses the cat litter box inside a powder-coated aluminium shell strong enough to bear weight. Belgian designer Mathias de Ferm created the form to function as a low bench or side table, hiding its purpose entirely until you open it.
The aluminium casing is manufactured in Germany. MiaCara chose the material for structural reasons: a seated adult can use the top surface without flexing the frame. An optional felt cushion, the Stella, converts it into seating for an entryway or bedroom corner.
Inside sits a compostable liner made specifically for this enclosure. The liners last one to two weeks before replacement and eliminate the need to scrub the interior. They're sold in packs of five, a recurring cost worth considering.
The entry aperture measures 18cm in diameter, sufficient for most cats but potentially tight for larger breeds. One design note: the enclosed format works only for cats that urinate while sitting. Cats who spray standing may miss the liner entirely.
The Sito won the German Design Award in 2019. The jury cited its ability to disappear into domestic interiors while serving a fundamentally unglamorous function. Available in matte white or black, it reads as furniture first, utility second.
