Rotolo Enrichment Roller

The Rotolo enrichment roller is made from natural rubber, free of BPA and phthalates. Danish design studio Hans Thyge & Co shaped it as something between a cube and a ball. When nudged, it moves unpredictably rather than rolling in a straight line.
Two openings sit at opposite corners. One for filling treats, the other for releasing them as the toy tilts and tumbles. The irregular motion means rewards come intermittently, which holds a cat's attention longer than toys with predictable payoff.
At 6cm across, the Rotolo is sized for batting and nosing rather than carrying. The rubber has some give to it. Cats seem to find the texture satisfying to press against, though this is not a chew toy and should not be left unsupervised if your cat tends toward destruction.
MiaCara produces their products primarily in Germany and Europe. The rubber surface cleans easily under warm water. Dishwasher cleaning is not recommended as it may warp the material.
The design is minimal enough to leave out between play sessions. Three muted colorways blend with most interiors. This is a simple object that does one thing well: slow down feeding time while keeping cats mentally engaged.
