Desco Nordic Feeder

The Desco Nordic Feeder is made from powder-coated aluminium with a wall thickness that keeps the frame stable under enthusiastic eaters. Danish designer Mathias De Ferm drew the profile for MiaCara, a German pet furniture company based near Düsseldorf. The geometry is simple: two bowls, one angled frame, no visible fasteners.
Each bowl is 18/10 stainless steel, the same grade used in professional kitchens. A silicone ring sits beneath each one to dampen noise during meals. The feet are also silicone, applied separately, which prevents the feeder from migrating across tile or hardwood. One note: on certain sealed or waxed floors, silicone can leave marks over time. A mat underneath solves this.
The Petite size positions bowls at 10cm, suited to dogs under 8kg. The raised height reduces neck strain, particularly useful for older animals or breeds prone to digestive issues. Both bowls hold 0.4 litres, enough for a meal and water side by side.
The powder coating resists scratches and moisture, making the feeder suitable for outdoor use. Bowls are dishwasher safe. The frame wipes clean with a damp cloth.
Desco received a German Design Award Special Mention in 2019. The jury noted its Scandinavian restraint. Available in grey, white, black, and grolive.
